Ms. Gould, the Academic Intervention Services specialist for reading, uses a combination of methods. Assistance is offered by either pushing into the regular class or creating small groups during the school day for approximately six students. Emphasis is placed on incorporating literacy strategies and skills into the current
classwork. Students are working in reading groups, on effective study methods, special class projects, essays, and book reports, with fun, yet educational approaches. The classes are cross-curricular (i.e., pushing into Social Studies).
