A Community of
Faith, Knowlege, & Service.
Our Art Program leads children to an awareness, understanding, and appreciation of God's creation and His gifts. The art process provides opportunities for each student to recognize his/her talents and to respect and appreciate the talents of others.
Since art pieces are expressions of personal experiences and vision, they are difficult to evaluate. The primary tools of evaluation are the following: teacher observations, understanding and following a process, use and care of personal and class materials, respect and encouragement demonstrated to fellow classmates.
Goals:
At the end of eight years of study and application, we hope the student will:
- recognize art as a medium for personal expression and a means of communication
- apply art's elements of design, through integration of line, shape, texture, colors and space using mixed media, e.g., crayon,
paint, pastel, and pencil
- become more aware of his/her own and others' cultural heritage through their exposure to various works of art, artists, and
the effects of history on art.
